Hi all

At the end of last week my life seemed to go into warp speed and before I knew it Saturday afternoon had arrived and in my garage was my very own Wedge!

Now I'm not a stranger to the TVR side of life as I used to have a 4.5 Cerbera. But that was sold some 12 months or so ago to make way for my Wife's kitchen! Which she still awaits....surprise, surprise!

I have bought G320 NEO from Paul Jackson and I must admit I'm excited at the prospect of sorting the many problems which it has and 'making it mine'. I was a little gutted to see the blue Wedge talked about on the 'Cheap' discussion on this forum today as I have to admit that it looks a cracker for a good price. But I do like NEO and think that in time she will turn out to be a cracker too. She certainly has some good history.

At the moment the most burning urgent job is to get the tracking and camber sorted, which is awful and then a couple of more minor ones like reconnecting the passenger door lock linkage which has obviously come adrift. At that point I would be happy to take her to Le Mans if I can oust our other driver as he always drives anyway.....we'll soon see how much of a gentleman he is!

In due course I look forward to seeing some of you guys around and about and would love to look at your cars as I am not at all familar with the various models. The advantage with my old Cerbera was that it was almost immaculate so I was always inclined to book it into Austec to get any work done. This one is definitely for home tlc as the capital invested in it is lower and I reckon I can make a pretty good job of things.

The one thing which has confused me slightly is that some of the parts lists on this forum mention CMW-TVR, but the link seems to direct to a redundant website....any thoughts?

Anyway, hello again and I am only too happy to receive advice and comments from people....even if it's to say that my car is c#*p. I'm very thick skinned and tend to take the view that any information is useful information as long as it's backed up by reason.

Cheers

Adrian

Send Trickie Dickie on here a message, it is his old car.
I was very tempted by this car, but it was a bit too far away from me and right at the top of my budget.
Hope it get sorted soon so you can enjoy that lovely noise thumbup

Hi Adiran

Welcome aboard.

Is this ths sable coloured car? If so I think it looks a beauty. And I think Paul sorted a lot of the niggles? I believe it was driven a good old distance prior to having any work done as well so it must be a good un.

One thing I can guaranty is no one on here will be saying your car is

c#*p

Have fun. What needs sorting and which part of the uk are you in?

Karl.

Hi Guys, thanks.

I am in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Yes it's the Sable car and Paul had mentioned Trickie Dickie.

The engine seems as sweet as a nut although I think it might want a battery with a bit more oomph to help it start more easily. I have ordered an Accumate as I gave my last one to teh guy who bought my Cerbera.

I must admit, the colour is growing on me and the interior is nice and suits the exterior. My wife calls it pickle or Lea & Perrins because of the colour!! I'll ignore it.....they don't understand!

The chassis is generally good. I plan to clean it up where I can and waxoyl it. But not too much to worry about there. I intend to bleed the brakes and check or renew the fluids and all the other general service type items which will just help to breed familiarity and give confidence of the condition of things........although I have to say that I was impressed with Paul. He seems a really genuine guy. The sort who gives you faith in humanity. He was honest and open all the way along.

All the door seals etc will need changing and the hood needs sorting. Presumably the rear section will need to be new but can the targa section be recovered? ...and where would I get a new hood?

There are also a couple of whining noises which need identifying and sorting.

Oh, the other thing is that the washer tube doesn't have a nozzle on it and I'm not sure how it all assembles. Can anyone tell me where I can get a nozzle and could someone post a photo of the nozzle assembly in situ for me to look at?

There are just so many things and not enough time as I am also doing an extension on the house.....and working, like most of us!

Cheers

Very different from the Cerb. Not as quick and because it's an older car and the Cerb was such a cracker it feels much older. But I hope some tlc will bring the best out of it.

Hats off to TVR making cars with different character but with absolutely spine tingling soundtracks. They're right up there with the Rolls Royce Merlin!

Spookily I live in Sir Stanley Hookers old house - he headed Rolls Royce and helped develop the Merlin engine - NEO has been kept warm in 'his' garage for the last 3 months....

Just returned from TITT/Brooklands where there were c. 8 Wedges inc. a 450SEAC... lovely..

Adrain - thanks for those words - shame the garage 'undid' some of the good work that had been done when they fixed the PAS...I hope you have many greatdrives and keep in touch.

Regards, Paul.

Thanks Paul

Did you look at the Blue Wedge talked about in the 'Cheap' thread? It's the same old thing that sometimes pictures suggest a car is better than it is. Not sure about that one but I am happy with mine, thank you.

Had a bit of trouble starting it this afternoon. It's not on an Accumate at the moment but hopefully will be this week. Sadly that means I'll have to start it every day this week......SHAME!!!

It's really nice to know that I have a years ticket and as the weather improves I will pick off all the jobs that could do with doing.

I've done quite a lot of things to her recently, all those small jobs that just take time...not going to sell..I tried but I don't think I can do it. Amazing how these cars get under your skin!

I didn't know it was TITT...otherwise I would have been there!

Hi Adrian

I have emailed you back from your PM this morning

I owned "NEO" for about 4 years as already mentioned and only sold
when a biker friend asked to buy it, and I had an itch to buy a 400SE.

Have loads of info and pics which I will sort for you
just rather busy with work and a couple of events
which I am organising now as Regional Organiser for the TVRCC in West Yorkshire

Will get back to you asap but in the meantime wish you all the best
with Neo and hope to meet you at the BBWF in July

Cheers
Trickie

Thanks Trickie

No rush with the info, but would love it when you do manage to sort it.

Lots of jobs to do. I'm pretty certain I need a new battery. When I had my Cerb I got an Optima Red Top from Griffin. That was a fantastic battery but I can't find it for the Wedge. I want to get something with a lot of Oomph. Any ideas where to look?

Cheers

Tracking has now been sorted- it was miles out. No wonder the car felt skittish!

I got the Optima Red Top battery today as well. It fits beautifully in the space. In fact it went in a lot better than the old one came out. 815 CCA this battery has. It's an absolute cracker.

So, having done those two jobs the next thing to do was go for a hoon!! FANTASTIC! Feels quicker than I imagined it would as it is quite a lot slower than the Cerb. But the power delivery is smooth and of course the sound.......that sound!

I'm going to study the Steve Heath bible this evening, but I may have some questions for you guys in due course!
