Bit of a strange one has developed on my V8V. Having the odd rattle isn't quite enough I'm afraid as my car has developed a single beep that comes from inside the cabin around 15 seconds or so after pushing the ECU into the run position. Exact symptoms: from standstill push ECU into the hole and start car engine. Around 15 seconds or so later there is a beep from the inside of the car which I believe to be more from the passenger side.

This happens whether I actually start the engine or not ( but leave the ECU in the run position), and also whether the audio is turned on or not, the damned special beep designed specifically to cause anxiety and AM neurosis is there.

I've done nothing to the car, apart from recently I had a new TPMS sensor put in by an authorised AM service agent although that could just be correlation. I've stuck my head near the box in the drivers side and the beep doesn't appear to be coming from that.

Anybody else experienced this or is my car "special" ? rolleyes

Is it the same beep the parking sensor makes?

Single beep or a series of beeps? I had a series of beeps which drove me mad, until Jockman asked if it was the SatNav camera warning. It activates even if the screen is down, if there is a destination active. So, do you live anywhere near a speeding camera? Long shot, I know........

Ha, I've got donkeys lugs on this one. Your suggestion made me look at my phones bluetooth and looks like I've ticked a box to say " make sound on connection" in the settings of an app. The sound is of course the beep of the phone as it connects, coming through the car phone system ! Doh!

No idea how the app setting has been altered of course whistle

So I Take it all back AM and once again I'm in love with my car smile

Thanks for the suggestion, good thinking!
