Anyone fitted one?

I bought one months ago and have only now got some time to fit it.

I know it needs to go in the low pressure line, but which one, the one from the rack to the res or the res to the pump?

Cheers

I've never seen a filter in a power steering system. Why do you feel the need for one?

Steve

PS Either line would do.

It's the res to the pump will keep bits out of the rack and make it last longer
Everything wears with age and stopping bits getting moved round the system is not a bad idea

Were did you get your filter from if you don't mind me asking

Cheers for the replies.

I knew someone would tell me the res to pump, not sure how on earth I'll manage to route it.

This is an obvious question and I'm sure I know the answer......

I presume the res needs to be higher than the pump?

I dig out the info on the filter when I'm at home.

Low pressure line, had one fitted on the advise of Killy Clinton , anything I can do to stop any st getting into the rack has got to be a bonus, been installed for the last two years problem free.

You don"t by any chance have a picture of where it is fitted?
I'm hoping this might help me with routing the pipes.

Hi Liam,

Have a look at the pics in this post.

I fitted mine in the same position about 18 months ago. It was a fairly easy job. Cut out a portion of return pipe, fit filter, couple of cable ties around filter to chassis to stop the filter bouncing around.

Cheers,

Rob.

Sorry, one last question. On this subject anyway smile

Can someone remind the ID of the low pressure pipe?

Cheers

Most pumps don't like to suck so you would be best fitting the filter in the return to the pot.
This pipe is 13mm ID.

Mr Plow, do you mind telling us where you bought your filter from? The only similar ones I can find are on eBay in the US.

Hi Guys

I haven't been to the unit since Colin asked a day or so ago, planning to go tonight so I will report back. I did end up getting it from a US website as I also couldn't find a dealer in the Uk.

I'll post details tomorrow if thats OK.

Cheers
