You all already know this, but be aware these tickets are for the Moving Motor Show and not the FOS. Still, it's a great day out for free!

It is indeed a great day for free, as most of the cars are all there in the Paddocks to look around, and it is much quieter than the main weekend. There was plenty of action going on last year on the rally stage and the motocross arena too. The only thing you miss is the cars doing the hillclimb obviously.

Now, what is the best way to get a drive up the hill?

Yes exactly. I went to this last year and it was great!

Thanks for that - I haven't made it to any of a FOS before, despite living 30mins down the road. It's always just been too expensive to justify, so free tickets to any of it is awesome. Have booked a pair for myself and a friend.

Thanks for that. It's weird though, I had such a great time in 2010 that I don't want to go again. I doubt another year could ever compare!

Got mine ordered just now. Already had tickets for the Saturday, so two trips down to sunny Sussex now.

Looking forward to that, as I'll get up early on both days so as to get a good crack at driving down with a (fairly) open road ahead of me. It's not that I want to be first, but I just enjoy the luxury of choosing my own speed for the next corner, not having some numpty choose a slower speed for me wink

The other benefit to arriving early is being one of the first up to the car park through the field if it's wet, before all the idiots have churned it up. Last year was pretty grim, even at 7am. Thankfully it dried out during the course of the day, so getting home was not a problem, either.

Get in quick!

Although you've got until 24th May to order the tickets, there's a cap of 10,000 free tickets, according to that 'Telegraph' link. When they're gone, they're gone, etc. etc. etc....

Tell me about it. In the s2000 (on almost slicks) I really struggled to get across the car park. Thankfully it was sunny during the day to toughen it all back up a bit.

It was quite funny going through the fields, on the left you had a line of RWD sports cars slipping about trying to get to the spaces and then on the right a line of boring hatches flying down at 20 to the next space.
