Congratulations to those who persevered through the wind tunnel that was the annual Cardiff/Tenby ride on Saturday (11 May).
Fantastically well organised as usual, apart from the weather!! The new route changes to avoid the A40 were scenic, with some sapping climbs, particularly after the coastal winds between Gowerton and Pembrey.
105miles into a 20mph headwind, which must have been gusting closer to 40mph. The drop down from the Alpha Pub to Tenby was monsoon-tastic.
Third one for me, and 2.5hrs slower than our best time.
All in aid of Noah's Arc Childrens Hospital, so the facial leprosy is a small price to pay.

Yep, twas my first century and what a challenging way to do it! The winds from Gowerton across the front at Llanelli were absolutely brutal and I wasn't expecting quite so much climbing. According to my mate's Garmin, we climbed around 6500 ft!
And that sign saying 5 miles to Tenby was blatantly lying!
Brilliant day though and looking forward to next years already.
