Brooklands 2013...what a day!
Discussion
Just wanted to say a big thank you to all the TVR owners who brought along their beautiful cars to Brooklands yesterday. I know that some of you made very early starts (Tunnel runners
) and traveled great distances just to get there. Thank you for making the effort to be part of this special day and the final number was...190 TVRs! This beat the previous meet at Brooklands so well done all. At 11.31am the Lancaster Bomber flew over the circuit and the banking fell silent, a special moment and a memory that will certainly last. Well done to those who braved the test hill and showed us how it could be done. It was certainly loud!
Thank you to all RO's and deputy RO's who publicised this event at monthly meets. Thank you to PH, to TVRCC members and non-members alike for joining in and being part of the day. There were TVRs from so many regions and certainly some cars that I hadn't seen before.
I did manage to take some photos which I will post later. If you have any photos or videos then it would be great to get other perspectives of the day.
Finally a big thank you to all the yellow hi-vis wearing marshals. They are all TVR drivers and did a grand job of getting cars to their parking spaces safely.
The public car park was over flowing so a grand day was enjoyed by all.

Seeby, you are quite right. The rain had just started when the cars got on the banking for this shot so hurriedly tops had to be put back on. Funnily enough one of the drivers is a top stylist at Vidal Sassoon so some of them are indeed hairdressers.
I made it back to East Sussex (50 miles + but you gotta keep movin) without getting wet (see pic) and I stayed for the banking shoot
thank you Mrs T for such a good day
