Temporary Insurance ideas?

The time has come for the car to go back on the road for a limited time. I need to insure it for a day initially (drop off at Garage for service/mot) then possibly a few more days to follow for test drives while it sells.

Anyone got any good suggestions? as I expected, none of the temporary companies I've tried will touch it when I type the word TVR. I've had a one day quote for £51 but as my annual insurance used to be just over 4 times that...I'm a little put off!

Add cover on your other policy (assuming you have another car) to cover any car?

Not sure that you can do that, as the 'other' vehicle cannot be registered to yourself.


Buy a policy and then cancel it before 14 days?

Check the details carefully if you are considering this option, they will apply an admin fee and this can be quite expensive

i just add an additional car to my "day car" policy.

cost me 10 a day last time

Do aviva give you 7 days free insurance for getting a quote still?
