Beepy immobiliser
Discussion
My S2 apparently has an upgraded Lotus immoboliser and when I initially started to press the button on the key fob the lights flashed but no beeps. Now it has taken to beeping some of the time and not others. Not a real issue, but anyone have an idea how to switch the beeps on or off.
hmm...the only time mine has started beeping has been when its f**ked (not to put too fine a point on it). If, when you set the alarm, it emits 4 beeps afterwards you can be pretty sure the alarm will set itself off within half hour.
Oddly, this problem was one I kept meaning to get sorted and then it sorted itself. Im fairly sure its a 'water on a sensor' issue somewhere in the system.
however...it may well be you have a much swankier immob and some else will tell you how to sort it!

Beeping on the S1 alarm I have (Cobra) indicates that the system's not set properly (dunno what the tech term for it is).
Basically say I don't close the engine cover properly and set the alarm it beeps as a warning.
Close the offending door/cover accordingly, reset and all is ok.
Check to see the sensors are being activated properly by the closed covers/doors etc. Maybe that's what's going on.
