First GT3.2 Splitter Casulty ;(

Not even sure when it detached itself. NXi was telling me a Cup splitter, is cheaper. Does this have to come from the Motorsport dept? Does anyone have the Cup part number ? Does the new splitter come with new double sided tape and fixings?

Just buy the Cup Splitter from Porsche Motorsport its cheap cheap. Just ensure you adjust the rear spoiler a few degrees to increase downforce to match front

Someone posted a link the other day to the part from Porsche Apart on their eBay site. Just over a hundred quid.

You will need new fixings though, which are a couple of quid for 10. You need 15 altogether, so best buy 30.

After about the 3rd one you'll get bored of buying a new one every time and just just end up bending the old one back into shape and sticking it back on

Does the same apply to gen 1 gt3? Does the cup splitter look the same? Does it increase or decrease clearance?

Good lord no. The Mk1 was a handbuilt racecar (built by the Motorsport department) Being a proper racecar (no cup holders) it's suspension and ride height is so perfectly judged, and it's perfectly sculpted front splitter so designed, that it doesn't get torn off every time the car is driven over a cats whisker. However, I suspect the application of a PDK 'box to the Mk1 would've meant far more frequent splitter replacement.

I should have said 997 gt3 gen1. Will the cup splitter fit etc? Love the 996 gen cars by the way!

Will a 997 GT3 Cup car splitter fit a Gen 997 GT3 ? Yes.

It's a well known fact that the cup holder is actually there to hold the trophy Mk2 owners will be walking away with every time a Mk1 attempts to keep up on track.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

The reason they never continued with Zanzibar was they realised it faded in the sun, hence all owners leave them in the garage like fairys........

I'd never thought of them like that, but yes, I suppose the Mk 2 owners really are just "trophy owners" on account of the fact they don't own the real deal. Yet another cross they have to bare . . . . .
