I've gone and beaten my own record. I bought my Tuscan new at the end of July and managed a full nine days and 850 miles before reversing out of a parking space and being hit by someone. After 10 weeks in the body shop, I picked it up on Sat afternoon and had to take it straight home as we had to go to a wedding. Drove it a little on Sunday, up to my Mum's and back. Decided to take it to work today to show the boys, wasn't worried about the rain, 'i'll take it easy' as I kissed the wife goodbye..........

FK and BS

Hit a diesel patch coming off the Hewitts Farm R/A on the A21.
Did a complete 360 and thought i'd got away with it but no, him upstairs had other plans and just as I started to get straight I struck the barrier, so now after 10 complete days and 1061.8 miles i'm back to being Tiv less.

I'm starting to think that it might be worth getting shot now as next time, god forbid I might not be so lucky. To not take it out in the rain might be a good idea, but I don't think i'm prepared to keep it in the garage for most of the year.

Try to persuade me to keep it will ya?!

You'll have to keep it.

No-one will want to buy it after this thread!

terrible shame, you've not had the best of starts to tuscan ownership, i was just about to post about it raining every time i want to wash my car but it seems a little trivial compared to your scenario

You don't have to sell the car... Do the sensible thing and sell the house instead, then move somewhere where it rains less :-)

Gutted for you. At least at this rate you'll never have to wash it.

Jon, don't blame the car. Shit can happen whatever you drive. I've done two winters every day use, only two days off the road in stupid snow. Just bad luck not the car. Tuscs are pussycats under normal road conditions. Feeling guilty now cos it was my other half that persuaded you to buy one. Stick with it, give it the respect it deserves and I'm sure you will have no regrets. Remember it aint no Land Rover. Anyway, hope to see you soon, take care and get that Tusc back on the road.

I'm gutted for you Jon - you don't deserve it. Stick with it though you'll always regret it if you walk away now without enjoying it properly

Not trying to be flippant or sarcy, but do you think some hi performance training may be the way to go?

Thats just it, if i'd been doing more than 20 mph in each smack I wouldn't have been surprised. I've driven quite a few fast cars over the years and never had a problem. I'll just put it down to very bad luck.
Di, I was being a tart before, I don't blame the car (or the Butler ) at all I just feel lucky I wasn't on a bike
Thanks for the words of support all, i'll just calm down and look forward to getting it back.......

Again.

BTW Tone, don't give up your passenger seat for Le Mans just yet mate!!!

You could have hit the oil in any car so don't worry about it.

I drive my Tuscan in the rain if I have to and, after the first time I gave it a bootfull in the wet and it fishtailed, I have learned to just drive it a little differently when it's "moist". I took ito the Lakes in April for a weekend and it peed down the whole weekend. The car was good as gold.

Right, firstly, cheers for the words of support fellas, my chin is well and truly up!
Secondly, I had the best phone call from James at Dream Machines. The insurance man has been and ok'd the repairs, excellent. Even better than that though is the fact that the parts have arrived and it will be going to the bodyshop early next week!!!!!
This news is better than I could have hoped for, after the ten weeks last time, it now looks like its going to be 4 weeks tops, maybe 3

Oooh I could crush a grape [/norven voice]

Sorry, I am beside myself with joy as our baby is ok as well
