Unsure where to post this, however here I’ am
I’m hoping someone can recommend a good company to insure a diamond ring value £1600 I'm not a home owner so I’m looking at an independent company.

Any advice welcome and if this thread needs to me moved to a different location that’s fine.

Many thanks

Rather than insuring the ring on its own it probably makes more sense to buy a contents insurance policy which covers all of your possessions. There are minimum premiums for things like this and whilst the rate for a single ring is probably only about £75 that may be too low a premium to make sense for an insurance company.

Avoid the High Net Worth Insurers (Hiscox, Chubb, Oak) as these are designed for people with large houses, antiques, watches, several cars etc. I suggest in your position you simply use the comparison sites such as GoCompare, Compare the Market etc. You are looking for a Home Insurance quote, contents only, not buildings.

HTH.

Thank you for the advice I will check out the GoCompare sites and have a look at contents insurance as apposed to insuring a single item.
