R129 instrument cluster

Help, my 1994 500SL instrument cluster has gone on the blink, literally. On switching on the display lights flicker then die. Can I get this repaired as the cost of a new one is horrendous and I want to keep my genuine 60,000 mileage display.

For anyone who may be interested it seems that instrument clusters with analogue mileage display cannot be repaired.
