What MPG / Range should I expect from my Griff
Discussion
Hi,
With my Cobra now sold and getting ever closer to the arrival of my Griff 500 SE I was wondering what MPG/Range I could expect from it. Coming from a 500+hp 6.6l Cobra I don't normally bother measuring, just fill it when it needs filling. The main interest I have is the range on a full tank over a mix or motorway / b-road.
What experiences do people have in 5litre cars?

With the standard(crap) TVR fueling map on the eprom chip you should be getting about 15 round town, 10 if you are driving it properly, and 24 at a steady 80.
get a tornado chip properly fitted and that goes up to 18, 12 and 28 respectively.
plus you get better throttle response.
and it revs quicker
and it warms up faster
and it idles better.

VJJ - is it a standard chip they do for the Griff 500? Did Tornado fit it or can any good tuner/rolling road people do it ok? Overall cost fitted? Cheers Alex
The standard Griff chip is £399 including VATAustec Racing in Crawley have a close relationship with Mark Adams of Tornado Systems and they have a RR and all the software to do it properly.
Give them a call 01293 531080 and speak to Tom - he has done hundreds.
ACT share premises with Austec and they supply the chip.
You will need an top-grade Bosch coil as well but they keep them in stock(60 quid).
I always fitted Magnecor leads as well.
