I've noticed a few times that when browsing the forums via my Android (4.0.3) phone that the mobile version via Chrome browser is quite slow to respond sometimes. If I switch to the full version (still on my phone) it responds at full speed and I don't have any issues loading pages. I've also noticed this with a Windows 8 phone as well using the stock browser so I don't think it is a browser/OS issue and think it is more a server issue.

Any ideas please?

The mobile site has proved troublesome in the past. Give the mobile optimised main site a shot, change your skin to mobile(beta) and login to the main site on your mobile device.

Skin change is available here -> http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/prefs.asp?h=0&a...

I think the mobile skin is good but I'm then forced to use that when on a desktop machine (or on a tablet). Is there a way to have a link that automatically uses a specific skin?

I.e.
www.pistonheads.com for desktop site
www.pistonheads.com/mobileskin or some flag set on the end?

I could then use the right link depending on the device and not have to suffer that damn mobile site. It would solve a lot of problems!

Main site slow for me - as distinct from the mobile site. Not seeing any cdn or admeld tags in the navigation bar on Firefox, just the usual waiting for www.pistonheads.com.

Taking between 10 to 20 seconds to load a page on the main site.

On a desktop, the mobile skin shouldn't look any different to the normal Big Blue skin. It decides what to display based on the device's screen size.
