No sound to surround speakers
Discussion
Hoping that someone can help here.
I've acquired a Yamaha RX-V473 AV amp, with NS-PA40 speakers to match. It's connected via HDMI (ARC) to a Panasonic TX-L42 TV and a Panasonic DMB-BD75 Blu Ray and a Technomate 5402 HD satellite system, both via HDMI ports.
I've set all the speakers up in their respective places and run the YPAO microphone to auto-adjust and all was good.
Apart from the fact I have no sound through the rear speakers when watching either TV or Satellite. Blu Ray is fine, and the sound is stunning on stuff like Star Wars, MiB etc. My old JVC DVD system used to do this just fine, but can't get anything out of this one, apart from the test signal when I run it.
I've only had this system a week or so and am struggling to fathom this out. Also wondering if I'm either missing the obvious or it's just not designed to output to the rear channels when not on Blu Ray or DVD?
Sorry if this post is rambling a bit, just that I'm tired and frustrated.

It is set on the TV to surround (just, not that it's made any difference) but it's still only playing through the front and centre.
Finding this really frustrating as I know it's: -
a. Something simple which I've missed, or
b. Not designed to play through rears.
The display is showing PCM, which is where I think my problem lies, but I can't seem to change this anywhere.

Well, I seem to have sorted it out.
After a lot of searching it seems that after playing with the settings a hard re-set was required, and not just a switch on and off.
Pressed and held the off button (till the red light went out, about 10 seconds) then rebooted et voila.
Sound on all speakers with TV on. Not tried the Sat yet as I'm scared.
