Hi all

The growler is having a spruce up at D & C and I have a small problem ......

The veneers that need replacing are all sorted but I have a piece missing !!!

The veneers actually sit on a plate which then attached to the dashboard and I have the plates on the glove box and the dash but the centre one is missing ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHH

Any body got any ideas or spares as I definitely don't have one frown

The only other option will be to take out the dash and have a plate laser cut to the size to mount the veneers on but that could take time and I want her done for le Mans ...

Any thoughts and suggestions much appreciated

Ty

Do you mean the centre peice with the clocks in?
I was watching a job lot if stuff a few weeks ago and that was part of it and don't think it sold,
I still have it in my watched items, do ya want me to ask him if he still has it?

A local stainless steel sheet works, laser cut a piece of stainless steel centre dash for me which I fitted over that plate as my finishing dash, but the sheet he cut is around 1mm or so and is as strong as the original plate. This could be used as the plate to mount your veneers on. The reason why I mentioned it, is because they have the pattern on the computer and could cut another virtually within days. He charged me £100.00. They only cut stainless steel, both patterned and plain. He did make a slight mistake on my one as the plate moved out of position slightly and the cigarette lighter hole was a couple of mm out but I still managed to use it by filing it larger. He also said this shouldn't happen if he was to ever cut another. I didn't have the bolts welded on to secure, because mine was the actual top finish, but he asked me if I wanted them. I could put you in touch with him if it helps you, but it is an expensive solution. PS I just remembered he cut all three pieces for that money so he may do the centre piece cheaper. Just out of curiosity, where did you get your veneers from and how much did they cost?

Hi TY

I may have one in all my parts, it will depend on which side your heater controls are as they were changed about!

Hi Ty

I looked in my garages today and found the backing plate, it has a nice wood venner on it, but the heater controls are on the right, on my 450 they are on the left.

Which way is your car?
