Just seen this. Price seems quite reasonable compared to other similar cars that have come up for sale recently.

Does look nice, can't see that one hanging about for long at that price.

Exactly if you factor in the cost of a quality re spray and diff refurb and door frame repair and a few other things that may need addressing your at 11k to 12k which is a really nice MK1 wish i was smaller LOL

You could do that or alternatively you could buy it and run as is.

if the chassis and the suspension is really good without any rust, than buying and using as it is would be a good deal.

Unlikely to be similar money. I think someone got a bargain there. I hope they turn up here, I would have loved to have seen it but sadly no time.

The car has been around in that condition for a long long time.. I suspect that it was 7k for a reason...the reason being the ability to carry on getting it through an MOT without major restoration.

Its strange how a few years changes peoples perspectives on the value of a vehicle.

Ask some others on here the cost of a "proper" restoration then factor the £7k into that cost...

£7k would but my 5 year old 220hp Audi quattro !!

Well, I know what I paid for my Jigsaw puzzle, and if that car is running and with all the proper bits, its worth 7.5K all day long at current prices. I do agree, I think whether you get a car for 2k or 7.5k, the cost of a complete restoration is likely to be more or less the same, assuming it started off more or less complete.
