Cam Point Change

Hi Gents

Been reading a few old threads regarding this which has left me a little confused on the direction to take? and was after some upto date information and views with from owners who have lived it

I was wondering what the cost was?
Who is highly recommended in the Cotswold area within an hour?
Is it worth it? As on the face of it having the cam point at 5ish rpm makes a lot of sense
My plans are a sports exhaust already purchased got a QS an induction kit and maybe this cam position change, was thinking about a de-cat just not sure it worth it re hassel etc

It is definately worth it. It's a lot easier to keep on the boil.

I got mine done by hanger111. You could remove the ecu and post it to them. Not sure who does it near you. Christopher Neil's would probably do it...

But yes, a no brainer mod to get done....

Chris Neils for sure and I guess any other Lotus dealer. I think it was a cost of around £500.

People I know who had it done say it is defo worth it

I think hanger charged me £300 or like that... It was deffo cheaper than £500. I'm too tight to have paid a lot....

They can do you a remap to take account of your new zaust / induction and modify the cam change at the same time.

Ideal chaps I look in to this .. makes sense re exhaust and induction kit to get mapped in

I guess it’s a pretty standard map... as I used use Indigo GT across the bridge for remap work on an old Evo 8 I had... or does it need to be a Lotus only , as it just a yota engine was my thinking

Essex Autosport are the only one that can do a bespoke map.

It's a locked ecu. Well known and much discussed in Lotus circles.

Think somebody else just cracked it recently but for a quick re-map EA is probably best as they have been doing it for years.

Do it. I had mine done by Hangar 111 (just sent it in the post). Cheap upgrade, that makes the cam change smoother and makes a noticeable difference especially on track
