Cannonball 8000 proves huge success
Run from London to Monte Carlo last weekend
After the success of the Cannonball 3000 2003, the Cannonball team's sequel -- Cannonball 8000 -- not to be confused with Cannonball Europe, an entirely separate event, took place last weekend. And Silverstone TVR, together with customer Shaun Francis, successfully completed the run from London to Monte Carlo.
The event proved hugely popular amongst the general public enjoying the sight and aural pleasure of the finest motoring exotica, including the hugely distinctive Tuscan S. Cruising through Paris and subsequently Monte Carlo was sensational and provided proof, if proof were needed, that driving TVRs slowly can be just as much fun as driving them quickly. There was of course plenty of opportunity for the latter but the whole driving experience was exhilarating and safe.
The Silverstone TVR Tuscan S was the 46th car to arrive at the Monte Carlo finish (from a field of nearly 100 cars) and, this despite a lengthy road toll delay.
Commenting on the performance of the car, Shaun said, “It’s as fast as any other car in the event, we just didn’t try to prove it on every mile we covered. This drive is a good indication of the reliability of the car and the looks we get from everyone everywhere we went makes it very difficult to be modest about it!” When asked about 2005, Shaun could only answer with a question: “Will I be able to get a Typhon in time?”
Silverstone TVR is now launching its all-makes programme for high performance tyres and high quality electrical installations. Branded Silverstone Performance, this new activity offers ultra-high quality products and service for TVR and other high performance cars. The main sponsors of the Silverstone TVR car, Goodyear, Pioneer, Tracker, Hella are key products within the new programme. Information will be available on the website as soon as the full range is complete but in the meantime all enquiries are invited by phone or by calling in at the showroom.

you clown! there is no press on the run just a nice crowd who know how to enjoy them selves with good company. If you knew me which you don't, you would know who I know and how to get invited, which you will not! arse!
So exactly how does the event make it on to Men & Motors and Pulling Power without press involvement?
Of course your reply was just meant to be sarcastic or tongue in cheek, either way it didn't come across, you just made yourself look an arse, as you put it!
