i put new ball joints on the front suspension 350i (upper wishbone) and it has nylon nuts when i try to tighten them the whole ball joint shaft turns! any practical ideas?

Have you tried pinching the joint together first with a free running non-locking nut? The old castellated nut!

Put a thick washer under your nut to tighten it up, then once the taper on the upright has got it remove the washer and re-tighten the nut

Block of wood between ball joing and inner wheelarch (preventing upward movement) Scissor/Trolley Jack uner lower balljoint to compress assy, Tighten away to hearts content...

Or am i a bit to agricultural?
