SLK350 or SLK55 AMG?

Hi

I currently drive an Audi S4 but am thinking of getting a sportscar or coupe instead. Initially I thought of having a 4 seater but it's just too tempting to get an SLK now.

Question is, am I best getting a newer/lower mileage SLK350 or a SLK55 AMG that's about 05-06 reg? My budget is £10k-15k (Can stretch to 16k if needed)
Want to be closer to £10k if possible

You can get really nice facelift (2008 onward) SLK's for that kind of money now. I'd have a facelift 350 personally.

For that budget you're going to end up with a high mileage 55, or one that's a little ropey. I would have look for a nice 350 - check the heated seats are fully functional (both base and back getting hot) if it has them fitted; it's a common fault on ealry cars and costs £1600 per seat to repair!

Have you considered an slk32amg? You could get one nearer your budget.
