Which fuel hoses to which fuel rail...
Discussion
A is flow in from the pump and B is the return back to the tank ..I`ve seen some early cars the other way round which makes easy access to the fuel regulator.
Don`t like the look of that brown insert ,your better off using these .

A is from fuel pump to rail. B is return to fuel tank. My pipe from the fuel pump comes up from the back of the engine and is closest to the rear exhaust manifold now protected with a tin tube and securily clipped away from the manifold to a brake line. The return hose from B on mine bends round behind the rocker cover.
Perhaps, try giving a blow into fuel lines. The return should/may bubble into the tank. I think it may not be possible to blow past the pump if connected.

Cheers for that. Just checking then...
...the fuel 'inlet' (or want of a better word) comes up from between the engine and bulkhead into 'A'.
The return 'B' goes to the connection that is on the driver's side, just beneath the rear of the manifold.
The 'plugs' in the end of the pipes were only temporary and used to stop fuel leaking out whilst I removed the intake manifold. The fuel hoses have since been replaced and each one wrapped in heat shield fabric.
