Learning French fast

My daughter will be staying in Geneva for a while and I have advised that learning French will improve her job chances. Anyone used any of the Rosetta Stone type packages or crash courses? She has French GCSE and a good social sciences degree.

I've got Rostte Stone on my laptop at home, albeit slightly neglected recently, and it's very good.

This guy is fantastic. Michelle Thomas isn't bad either.

Even after the basic course you'll be thinking in French. Yes, that's right, you'll not bother shaving armpits, run away, eat lots of cheese, will vote to be in Europe and burn sheep. Forgive me if I've missed any other stereotypes.

From my experience, it took me to studying at A-level French before I "thought" French but after just the first German tape, I was thinking German. Yes, that's right, after one tape, I invaded Poland, ate sausage and strutted around in Lederhosen.

The only downside - you may take to speaking a new language with a slight whistling and sucking noise.

Many thanks for the comments. I agree with the point about "thinking" the language. It will probably help that she will be learning while among French speakers.
