Anyone playing this? Released today, I am about to go back into the Metro and scare myself silly smile

I really enjoyed 2033, makes a change from the Western FPS games and storylines. Ghosts, mutants, Nazis and flying beasties!

I got 2033 when it was given away on Facebook 6-12 months ago.

Finally got around to playing it a few weeks ago and turned it off after an hour, looks pretty, but the gameplay is/was dire. In that hour I guestimated I had control for about 15 minutes, and of that 15 minutes 5-10 was spent with it as a rail shooter.

It was very atmospheric, but the quantity and length of the cutscenes and QTE's turned me right off.

I'm guessing you guys are running decent gfx cards then? I'm just about to upgrade my 470gtx to a 670gtx as this game seems to be especially gfx heavy.

I run a 670 and i get near 60fps at all times. The game looks stunning, the no action required parts are seamless and fluid. The game seems fairly linear so far but I wouldn't describe it as on rails. It seems heavily story driven, and what I've seen so far, it looks promising. It is highly atmospheric and likely to make you jump in places.

I'm running a 570 with i7, got the graphics on high with SSAA off. Averaging 43fps on the benchmark thing, smoke and stuff bogs it down a bit so I might turn PhysX off too. I like the story and atmosphere, great style. Not had a game make me jump since Deadspace smile

Took me 90 minutes to get it running, I had it preloaded on Steam but it wouldnt get passed the Deep Silver splash screen. Needed a quick backup/restore and works fine now.

I bought 2033 on th eback of the hype but gave up very quickly.

extremely linear gameplay with no real freedom of action from what I saw. couldn't be bothered to keep going.

I'm liking mooching about the swamp, playing with headphones on and all the little sounds make you quite jumpy. The muck on your gas mask is a nice effect, always expecting something to pop up in front of me while I'm wiping it clean.

How did she know I was checking her arse out?? smile

There is a couple of endings in 2033, Last Light presumes you went down the missile route! A nice open world version would be good so you can mooch around the whole metro system.

there are a lot of places which give you a free copy with certain graphics cards including PCWorld and Novatech.

Must be over half way, it's much better when you get in to it. Hate the monsters, mike picking the men out with head shots!

Anyone still playing this? I'm probably about 3/4 of the way through and really enjoying it. Some of the levels are like the Prypat level of COD4 mixed in with Fallout.

I only got as far as when you first go outside to the crashed plane; kept running out of gasmasks and then Last of Us came out... haven't touched anything since (including GOW Judgement which I still haven't opened). Need to go back... must complete LOU on survivor first tho; I can't mix and match my games hehe

This game has fked me off.

Must be about 3/4 of the way through, gone through multiple game crashes and freeze ups. Happened again just now and now I have no game save
