Hello everyone,

I immigrated from France to Bucks a few years ago with my 3.2. I have finally decided to stay for good and will therefore need to get the Carrera registered here.

What is the procedure?
Who do I have to speak to?
What do I have to change on the car?

Thanks for your advices guys

Raph.

Speak to the DVLA; there is information online and in the way of booklets they can send through the post.

Type certification letter from Porsche UK is the time consuming part - do this early.

I've been through it with my GT2 - Warning, get a Certificate of Conformity from Porsche at Reading if you can. My car never came with one and I had to get it SVA'd. Pain in the axxse. You wont need to worry about rhd headlights if you dont need an SVA (providing you have a friendly MOT station)

To register the car you need the following:
Certificate of conformity/SVA test
MOT certificate
Any foreign registration document
Certificate of Insurance
VAT form (completed to show no VAT due)
Fee for road fund licence

You then go to your local Vehical Registration Office, or send the forms, they send you back the registration number to have put on the car in addition to a tax disc, then in a few weeks your V5 UK registration document arrives.
