Lossless wifi streaming of Spotify to my hifi - how?
Discussion
Hi all,
I have Spotify Premium (320Kb/s)running on my iPad.
It's currently connected to my hifi via a cable running from headphone output socket to one of the aux inputs on the back of my amp.
Is there something I can plug into the back of the amp that would let me stream Spotify wirelessly to it (at 320 Kb/s)?
My BIL reckons that Sonos may have something that can do this but I looked at the Sonos site and couldn't find what I wanted.

Sonos do have something that will do it, the Sonos Connect, but it seems an expensive way just to play Spotify!
Cheapest option would be something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phono-Cable-Apple-Media-Pl...
You will then bypass the iPad DAC altogether.
Edit: That obviously ISN'T WIRELESS. Apologies for not reading the title properly! For wireless, Sonos is probably your best answer. It won't stream from the iPad per se, but will allow you to use the iPad to control the Spotify client on the Sonos box itself.

This also looks interesting, although it doesn't look as the it supports 320k streaming from the iPad yet.

In some cases you can just download a file and install it and off you go. In other cases it's a bit more technical.
If you want plug and play, it's not for you. If you don't mind a bit of technical fiddling then go for it.
i use one of these, quality seems ok http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/product/wireless-spe... £25 on amazon, could always send it back if you think its s

Yes, this is the best answer - I always forget about Airport Express. You can pick them up refurb (basically new) for £69 direct from Apple, so a lot cheaper than the £250 Sonos Connect. Sonos is great if you are looking to build a multi-room system, but you won't gain any benefits if you are just using it in one. As TheHeretic rightly points out, the Airport Express can do a lot more as well.

Raspberry PI is a tiny PC, about the size of a pack of cards and very cheap (£28ish for the basic one) but it's just a piece of hardware. You need to program it to get it to do anything. Fortunately there are lots of clever people out there who have already thought of stuff and basically give away the code and how to do it. It usually runs a flavour of linux but people are working on other stuff including android OS.
