Is anyone doing LeJog this year?
I've just entered doing a 2 car team with Mission Motorsport, should be quite a challenge.
Details here for anyone interested. Anything pre-1984 is eligible, will need to be in rude health though and able to stand up to a bit of a beating.

Hi Ian, sorry only just seen this, forgot I posted it actually!
I'm running in a team of 2 cars with Mission Motorsport (www.missionmotorsport.org). I did the HERO Throckmorton Challenge last year with a chap called Nathan - he's an ex Para, double leg amputee. He put us on the podium first time out, 3rd in class and 12th overall out of 60+ cars. He's an absolute legend.

I've just retired the 944 from daily duties and am about to start work on the prep for Throckmorton on Oct 12th followed by LeJog in early December, both with Mission Motorsport.
HERO very kindly offered us a 'BOGOF' deal - if I entered they would give us another free place for the charity, thus we are running 2 MM cars. Me driving one with a MM navigator, the other car entirely staffed by MM personnel. They'll also be running a support crew for us to give some of the lads who can't drive but are interested a chance to see what classic rallying is all about.
It is going to be rather intense. I'm just putting together our plan - frankly I am focusing on getting us to aim for a 2 car finish and completion of every special stage and reg. That seems like enough of a challenge but of course I'll have an eye on the silverware.
We're up against some bloody stiff competition. The Baker Boys in the 911SC are in our class, they just won London Lisbon outright so are flying this year. Also a couple of German chaps in a Talbot Tagora (see Classic cars forum).

Ah I remember you talking about Nathan from the Throckmorton last year, glad his still keen to carry on.
Good luck, LeJog is always real challenge though I understand the quality slipped a bit a couple of years back. Believe they sharpened it up a bit last year with some proper road rally stuff in Wales which caught a lot out.
If I had the Budget I'd love a go at one of the long distance events, but I think I'd be more tempted by RotT.

If I heard right HERO have just instructed a new COTC for LeJog, he's going to get it absolutely perfect apparently. I think that is anyone can get it done Tomas and Patrick at HERO can, they're an effective pair.
Yeah, I think RoTT looks cool too, finishing right next to my gaff this year too
Maybe bext year. I need to improve my special test driving. Based on the Malts and Throckmorton I'm up there, routinely 2nd/3rd of 6-10 entries, but struggling to really challenge for the scratch time.
The Porsche in full trim will hopefully go some way to bettering that, as will a more experienced nav. Essentially we need to work on fast and snappy instructions on special stages.
Regularities are fine and its not unusual for us to zero an entire day. In fact John managed to get us through the last 150 miles of regularities on the Malts with a next to no penalties.
Its all about those cheeky tests
