Looks like a 2.5 saloon? By the looks of it could be cannily marketed as a 'barn find' and sold for more than its restored value too

Stored for 30+ years after restoration never used by the now deceased former owner and now the family want it to be returned to running order.As with a lot of 70s and 80s restorations "shortcuts" were used.

SS2s were before the 2.5 saloons. From memory they were 2 and 2.2 litres.

The SS2 was a "junior" 4-cylinder version of the 6-cylinder SS1.

Standard made a "bespoke" chassis for the SS1, but the SS2 had a Standard Nine chassis.

These cars were replaced by the SS "Jaguar" range in the mid-30's.

SS2's are quite rare: not many made and, of those, not many survive.
