Afternoon Tea, Savoy

As above. Taking Mum out for her 65th . Never been to an afternoon tea before, let alone somewhere like this. It's what she wanted.

What can we expect? Choice of tea,cakes and sarnies? Or ship em in, ship em out?

Speaking personally, last time I had afternoon tea there was with a new girlfriend. It transpired that U2 was staying at the hotel at the time. Bono and the Edge wandered up, Bono spotted me and the new GF and serenaded us on the grand piano.

Normally you can expect a lot of nice sandwiches and cakes, followed by a bill that would cover dinner elsewhere.

My wife has done afternoon tea at the Savoy, said it was good, but not as good as Claridges, which we did together.
