My GoPro Hero1 will not turn on.
Pulled the battery out/back in. SD card in or out etc. Wired in or out via GoPro USB cable to computer.
Googling shows there's an on going problem with all GoPro versions. Great kit when it works.

Anyone had this and solved it?

Try a different SD card?

If you don't get anywhere bring it to the duck bay on 30th and we can try a different battery etc.

Hi. Thanks for the info. Folks have found that works.
Another way I've just stumbled on is using an i-product wall socket charger plug. Seems the GoPro battery doesn't re-charge well with the micro volts that computer USB sockets produce.

Why's that?

I'm afraid I always do exactly the opposite. I always charge it via USB from laptop and always clear the card from laptop once files are copied over.

No problems thus far.

I charge the GoPro via my Ultrabook while I do some video editing and photoshopping.

Aslong as the milliamp's is correct then the GoPro will charge, just the time to take will vary.

Rememeber the wall charger is about 500milliamps which is just a bit bigger than a laptop.

Is that not 2 rules? I charge from the laptop and delete on the laptop, I'm interested in knowing why you have the opposite as a rule?

could be the same issue that occurs in IPAD's that the USB socket on some computers does not supply sufficient charge to recharge a device. This happens on alot of devices whilst charging IPAD - have it plugged in and switched it then it will not charge. When the screen goes off it can charge but to check you have to swtich screen on. Its another fridge light issue wink

Alot of new systems now (mac's and desktops in particular) can charge properly now.

Thanks for this, Barry. I've got to the bottom of the problem.
I met up with lots of Monaro/VXR8 guys on Sunday past and swapped batteries with a GoPro owner there.
My battery is fine as it powered up his camera. His battery would not switch on my camera so I need to see about getting GoPro company to repair my camera.
