Hello All,

How do you record the sound of a Sagaris from on board?

The vid below is from a quick drive last night, the sound is coming from just one exhuast, I was trying my new Gopro which seems to have done ok but what is the best place to put it to get both exhausts recorded?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Did you use a remote mic. If you had a stereo lead with a splitter in it to one mic either side, then this should do the job. You can pick leads and mic's up off ebay very cheap.
Here is a video I made with the GoPro and cheap mic, it's not too good with the pops and bangs though as they were quite loud, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWHzDv_NaAo&lis...

This may help Paul - was done by Khalid Bari (kman on here). An excerpt of this was used for the PH Carpool article on the Tuscan a while back but this is all the footage he took.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwHxoXWeqFY

You can see the set up he used in the initial clip, then flick through to 0:32, 0:52 and 2:10 for footage from the back of the car.

For the Sag I reckon you may get the best sound from both exhausts by sticking it in the middle facing backwards...will also keep it out of the wind get you some decent rear facing footage wink

LOL. Thanks Don.

I've just uploaded this low res version of my new vid to Facebook, but the HD version will be available on YouTube tomorrow.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=3116005315878...

I've tried a variety of different mic methods, but what seems to work fairly well is the USB to mic adaptor, a 2 x mono to 1 x stereo Y-adaptor, and two lapel mics. I find that attaching the lapel mics to the rear side of the rear spoiler and then using gaffer tape to stop air escaping under the spoiler works quite well. But I've also used an EM-288 directional mic which you can see on this vid:

In both cases there is a slideshow of stills at the end of each vid showing the setup.

You can see all of my vids at

Novel camera angle, and it sounds great, like a mix of small and larger calibre weapons smile
