Brought the car on THursday, rear screen disappeared on the M40 on Sunday. May the expense begin!

Where can I get it replaced in South London?

Cheers all

I was looking at a Chim at TVR Centre Barnet which had a fag burn on the rear screen. They know of a place that'll replace it. (They thought at around £400?)Don't know if that helps.

All the main dealers in the Bristol area use a chap who I've just used to have my rear perspex replaced. Cost; £125. Bargain! He'll do the rear part of the hood for about £250 and an entire new hood for about £550. Hope that helps.

Been pondering. How did it come out? I've heard (many a time) of Tuscans losing it, but not Chimps? Presumably driving roof off, rear screen up?

bit of a tangent here, but has anyone thought about changing the rear screen (if it can be done) so that is only the same size as a flat rear screen (no wrap around) and added extra roofing material to the corners. As I find the main problem with putting the roof down is the screen not liking the corner and creasing/buckling around it.

No, but he was talking to Fernies about a zipped rear screen mod.

Not sure on the latest info though.

Well, it can be done. Fernhurst could do me a zip out rear screen as a direct replacement to the one that is already in there.
They use a trimmer near them for all their work and these people do zip outs for most softops. Sit down though because they are not cheap, basically another £150 on top of the (already expensive) standard replacement.
I was sorely tempted to have it done on mine but cash flow was tight and my insurance covered the new one, so all it cost me in the end was £60, if you are going to pay for it out of your own pocket you are looking at almost £550.

If anyone is interested call Brian or Graham at Fernhurst and tell them I pointed you in their direction.

Came across a one man band who has worked for Connolly leather for loads of years working up Ifield road, Charlwood which is basically just behind gatwick airport.

He had a Griffith in there and was doing a lovely new set of carpets in it. He does leather trimmings and back screens. He gave me a estimate of about £100 to do my back window (I wasn't in my TVR at the time).

Apparantly he does a lot of the local TVR dealers.

Can't tell you a name or a number, but can give you a description of how to find him if that helps!!
