I need a small part for the front brake caliper on my car, which was a 4 litre originally.
Anyone know which manufacturer made them originally, so that I can go to the right parts department?
Thanks

Looking at mine whilst it was up in the air earlier I am fairly certain I've got either saff cossies or granada. What part you after?

All I need is the thick washer like spacer that fits onto the alan-keyed bolts (studs) that hold the caliper in place.

I changed the front pads driver's side myself about a month ago. Alun did the passenger side, so that is fine.
Clearly I didn't do my bolts up tight enough, because I heard a noise yesterday, like a rattle when travelling over slow bumpy roads.
Got the roof off this morning, and realised it was coming from front right, so got the wheel off, to find bottom caliper bolt missing and top one half undone.
I think I heard the bottom one come off - i was doing about 70 on the A1 at the time.

I could really do with the bolt itself as well, as i am making do with a standard hex-headed bolt of the same thread and length that i sourced from Halfrauds this morning. As normal they of course didn't have the correct size in Alun-key headed bolt, and as normal I needed the thing on a Sunday.

These? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Heavy-Duty-Caliper-...

Fords will stock them, would think ecp and gsf would have a bundle of them too.

Please use Loctite on these fixings; the amount of loose/lost caliper screw threads on here over the years since I've had a Tiv have been hair curling (if I had any)...

I think mine was more than 25 mm long, and the spacer was thicker than that.
I will take the other one off the car and measure it.
Thanks

Something like that. Give me 24 hours. I might be able to pick one up locally once the rest of the world starts work again.
Clearly loctite should be on my shopping list too.

Managed to get some allen-key screws and spacers locally. Thanks for all your help and everyone else too.
Consensus was that they are sierra brakes on the 4 litre

wink And Anthony use the non-hard setting thread compound at all costs not the permanent stuff biggrin use Loctite 542 for example wink and don't drown the threads in it laugh Don't use Allen wrench's/Key's either you wont get enough purchase to do them up correctly try or similar........

Thanks Simon. I will get the kit you suggest. We only did the brakes ourselves because I was running out of brakes on a Saturday evening and had another day on track the next day.
I will leave it to the experts in future

Yup - I lost a leading bolt just after I did mine and it locked up my inside front wheel completely at about 60mph. eek
