Hi All,

As a buyer, as side from an owner saying it has or hasn't, how would you identify if a particular car has the Quaiffe LSD or the trackday sump?

Thanks

Matt

1. All lsds are Quaife. LSD is written in red marker on the top of the bell housing (basic but effective)

2. Look under the engine for an offset shaped alloy box protruding from a cutout the floor level

Brilliant thanks, hope too many sellers don't write on their gearbox's!

I believe all the 6 speed box's had an LSD... its only the 5 speed that varies.

TDS is visiable under the car as the center of the panel under the engine has to be cut out as it hangs slightly lower than the floor.... if the floor isn't cut out the car doesn't have one!

if you jack one wheel in the air and turn the wheel you should feel resistance

if you have an open diff it will turn much easier

on a 2.5 with a 5 speed it doesn't hang down that low.

Didn't know that, So on the 2.5 it's going to be really hard to identify if it has either!

The floor whole would still prolly be cut out on the 2.5 otherwise you have to removed the floor to service it.

That is correct, it still has the cut out and it's obvious. I think it's the same as all the other cars but Andy's description of it stickes out the bottom of the car probably needs to be taken in context as I believe it's flush with the floor but would clash if the floor was kept. Might be wrong though.

That's interesting. Is this a after market sump as Nobles one normally has the cut out

Mines only got a bit of a cut out as I took the tin snips to it wen last servicing it. It isn't a massive whole like wen factory fitted
