Hi all

What do you recommend to use in the standard T5? Mine is a little tricky to get into first when cold and I wondered if there were recommendations.

The gearbox, clutch, slave and master are new and I can easily select the other gears, just first when the car is cold is a pain to select.

Thanks!

I'd get the best quality ATF you can find. I used Valvoline Maxlife which is expensive at £15 per L, but widely available at EuroCarParts.

Definitely a good idea. I can't remember exactly what I ended up using after rebuilding my gearbox, but it was the best I could find at the time.

You should use "ATF SHC" from Mobile. This is a fully synthetic oil, a second option is the "ATF 320" also from Mobile.

I went with morris because the thats wha john reid (aka grantura engineering) recommended and he builds/rebuilds tvr boxes everyday as well as diff so should know what he is talking about. It was also an easy choice as I usemorris engine oil and have never had any pressure issues, hot or cold.
