Drive through the Hindhead tunnel..........

If you live in the South then you have to take a drive through the Hindhead tunnel......... its epic. Pop the window down, put your foot to floor and I challenge anyone not to have a massive grin on their face! Took my V8 Vantage through last night and it was awesome. There are average speed cameras so you can't hoon it all the way through at 130........ so be careful!

I took a 20 mile round trip with a friend on Sat just to blast through Southwick tunnel on the A27 near Brighton. Not amazingly long but the acoustics are good!

The one big shame of driving these cars is that you can't hear them properly when you're in them....

Ahhhh, that's what it's called!! It's a great one for noise, my DB7 sounded like an old F1 car in there

Get a ragtop, you can hear it properly that way

Yup!, do it everytime I go home. Enter tunnel, open the windows, drop the clutch pedal and reeeevv like......

When I bought my car last year it was a hot sunny May weekend (remember when we used to have those?) and the present Mrs Mac agreed we should nip down to the coast straight from the garage. I had no idea the tunnel was there so it was a great surprise. Sadly, it was only towards the end that I realised what gear I needed to be in to be above 4k at 70mph to have sonic bliss, but it was still awesome 40 mins into Aston ownership. Other American superlatives are available.
