After much research on the car itself, I now have Rob Ingleby searching for me. Finally, after years of waiting, I am going to own the much drooled after TVR. Great!
So, at the weekend, I set about clearing out the garage to put the new baby in. After chucking out all the domestic junk I thought....hmmmm...is the garage actually wide enough? A small oversight here. I see that the Chimaera is 1.86m wide...does that include the wing mirrors? Could make all the difference. The car will fit no problem, but its the minor issue of opening the door and getting out.
I suppose worst case is that I will have to have a drop down rope and haul myself out vertically. Thats the advantage of a soft top. Very James Bond, plus will build up huge muscles to match the car.
Comments very welcome, if anyone can spare five minutes with a tape measure!

The wing mirrors barely overhang the width of the car as they are at the top of the door and the door bulges out below. They do however retract a little bit. From memory I think the Chimaera is nearer 1.9m.
They are easier to get out of than say an Elise and you can get away without opening the door too much. My garage is 8'4" wide and the car fits fine.

According to the handbook the overall width including mirrors is 1865mm.

You might want to consider fixing a sheet of plywood (or similar) to a small section of the garage wall on the driver's side to help prevent any damage to the Chim door when getting in and out.
Old carpet tacked to the wall is another way of saving the door from knocks, I've got it on both sides
Depending on how long the garage is you could even put it on the end wall as well to save any nose scrapes, the only worry you'll have is neighbours thinking your building a padded cell
Top Tip for today.
First time you put the car in the garage, get it in so far then get out roll it back as far as you would like to park it, apply the handbrake then lean out of the passenger window and put a bit of insulation tape on the wall in line with the edge of the mirror.
That way every time you park you can reverse back to the perfect spot without bumping the rear (or your scooter!
)

Yep. I got a sponge ball, tied it to the roof of the garage and set it so it just touched the windscreen when the car was in the perfect position.
The tip is to have the ball touch the windscreen as its really easy to see there...rather than some business of hanging it so it touches the nose of the car...
Carpet nailed to the wall acts as protection for the doors very well...

Although you do have to stay inside the Cerb forever- doors are so long that they only open about 4 inches! I was going to buy one until we put Ceejay's in my garage and found that I was trapped!
i was going to say the same thing. The doors on the cerb are the longest doors I have ever seen. I struggle to fit them open in my driveway next to the house. Mind you, always do the "new" TVR style doors which are cropping up (eh SXS

Well it fits in my standard 'Bovis' garage. Corin will verify that I'm not exactly a beenpole. It's about 3 inches off the wall nearside, the window has to be at least a quarter open, and I have to put the seat all the way back on the runners and I can just about get out - Heaven help me if I don't get it just right though, I have to reverse out and realign!
I am almost overwhelmed at the resourcefulness on offer here! Thanks very much everyone.

I have a confession to make, which I hope doesnt change your opinion of me. Over the Hill suggested trying an MGF, as it is the same size more or less. Great idea! Only thing is I've done that already....I've been doing it for the last two years! Ya' live and learn.
Still it's onwards and upwards. I am already putting in the central heating and de-humidification system in the "shed", along with the padded cell scenarion.
