It sounds like the NSF wheel bearing on wifey's ST is on the way out (that lovely thrum has crept in recently). It looks like this is a hub assembly change over job.... Does anyone have any info on replacing this at home? There's very little info on it on the 'net, so any advice is gratefully received!

Thanks smile

It comes as the flange & bearing in one that presses into the knuckle, it is straight forward to do but if your going to DIY it then you will need someone to press the old one out & the new one in.
Before changing the wheel bearing also check the offside driveshaft support bearing bolted to the rear of the block as these often get noisy & sound like a front wheel bearing when they do.

Thanks for the advice! What's the best way to differentiate between the bearing and the driveshaft support being at fault (especially if there isn't any obvious play / noise in the wheel bearing itself when jacked up)?

Put your hand on the bearing & get someone to spin the wheel you will feel a vibration, this will also work on the wheel if you put your hand on the hub
