Must get a new clutch for my 993RS. I do 5/6 trackdays and 8K road miles per year. Is there any point in getting Clubsport clutch or will it just be a PITA on the road with little difference on the track?

Anything else I should get done whilst they are in there?

Thanks
Piers

Told you Frankel had FUBAR'd that clutch

I've wondered about racing clutches myself as mine don't last long but everyone says they are a real PITA on the road, especially any sort of traffic.
From all accounts they don't actually last much longer but don't fry if you slip the clutch.
IIRC you can upgrade to a turbo clutch.
I would be interested in any info you find out as basicaly running the same setup.

Piers, I don't think there will be any benefit from fitting a CS clutch on your car for the use you describe.

However the CS model was fitted with a single mass (lightweight) flywheel instead of the dual mass on the regular RS.

I went over to LWF & RS clutch a couple of thousand miles ago.
The car definitely revs better, particularly from 4000rpm and when the varioram kicks in.
The downside is the awful rattling noise and coffee grinder effect when the lsd wakes up...after about 2000rpm it sounds more or less like the dual mass flywheel set up.

I am happy enough I made the mod, but if you do not like the noise it may not be for you.I would suggest you try or hear one before you go ahead

You read a lot about stalling etc..with the LWF - no prob on the RS disconnect the battery when warm leave for 15 mins...start up and all is well.

Hi Clubsport & of course Piers

I hadn't heard of the battery disconnection to cure the RS stalling issues whith the LWF. Mine has LWF and CS clutch. Haven't had any stalling in a while but i will keep that in mind, in case it starts misbehaving.

Regards/Phil...
