24 Stunden Rennen Nurburgring!

Well, I can't believe it was a whole year ago that I popped my N24 cherry, but this weekend the 'ring was once again saturated in beer, heavy-metal and over 200 racing cars in a range of classes...oh yes and rain. Lots of it. So much so, that the race was red-flagged for 9(!) hours! Which was a shame as I missed the opportunity to get the night shots from above the pit-lane and wide-angles from the stands that I wanted - the cars had stopped by the time I got to the GP track. I decided to head back home at around midnight, and actually didn't regret it since the race didn't restart until around 8am and any chance of a sunrise was well and truly snuffed out by the rainclouds.

So while the light was pretty poor (except for the first few I took before race day) I did find a few new locations/angles (not easy with so much high fencing) and got some shots in the bag before the heavens opened.

Great shots, Tim, I really like the rear shot of the Aston, any idea where on the track it was taken please as I really can't put my finger on it?

Adenauer, all of those shots were taken between Schwalbenschwanz and Brunnchen. Looking at the map now, I think the Aston shot was heading into Pflanzgarten II?

Well I like them, very nicely done indeed and for me they capture some of the atmosphere of the place.

Yep, got you, Eiskurve, heading over the crest into Pflanzgarten, I'll take a wander up there on Sunday

Cool, just take appropriate footwear! You will need to climb/scramble up steep muddy banks to get there...and brave the brambles, fallen branches and stinging nettles!
