Cockers are nowhere near as demanding as spriingers on that front, possibly brighter too......

No, but a working cocker will still happily go on a shoot all day long.... And will need plenty of exercise.

We have 2 working cockers fantastic dogs, we were looking for a new addition to the family, a puppy was on the cards but there are plenty of rescue cockers out there, so going to go that route instead, if anybody can help ie a gun dog that is gun shy or one that didn't quite work out or change in circumstances would be great.
Excellent choice by the way, sexual chocolate

We found our working cocker through "preloved" (awful name but a lot of dogs up for new homes).
Also www.workingcockerspanielrescue.co.uk have dogs available most of the time but do have a preference for working/agility homes.
Cute puppy pictures do tempt you though!!

I wish people would get at least one rescue for each puppy purchased........

Well she came home on Saturday. Little timid at first and scared of the lab (he is bouncy and excitable) however things calmed down and they now get on well. I am really impressed with Lab, he is patient with her and now, as she grows in confidence around him, tends to let her hang off his ears for a bit before he has had enough and just moves away. I hope this continues wink

I'll get some pics up soon but as she seems to be powered by the puppy equivalent of a V12 twin turbo its not been easy to get her to stay still for long enough!

One of her asleep.

I reckon she lives her life 1/4 mile at a time. She is constantly barrelling around at full pelt. She loves the lab though, follows him everywhere.
