Been struggling to engage gear for a while now. However the problem did correct itself completely for about a week or two but then came back again. :-( It's as if the clutch needs a little bit more throw on it to fully disengage. Was thinking could this be a master cylinder fault but either eay if i put one on with a slightly bigger displacement then it should cure my problem for now untill i replace the gearbox clutch and bellhousing for something a bit more robust.
What type of master cylinder is fitted to the Cerbs and what displacement? Also where is the best place to get one?

Have you adjusted the master cylinder pushrod?

Hi guy! I have tried to get into contact several times with you. How did your project come to its current state? And....what is the current state of the car?

I have bought a T56 box in the UK and this week the LS7 clutch, starter motor and some other bits arrived. They are still finetuning my Cerbera after a new motormanagementsystem had been installed (KMS).

I experienced that the slave was leaking after it came back from the UK. Look underneath the car where the belhousing meets the adapterplate. When oil is leaking, it is worth considering changing it or going to more robust parts.

Send me an email regarding the conversion.

Thanks to the replies. I didn't realise the pushrod was adjustable. I adjusted the bolt thru the peddle arm so it gets as much travel as possible but not the pushrod itself. How dose it adjust?
If that dosen't sort it then how much difference will it make fitting the 0.75 one? I have a feeling i am overcoming the fact it's had a flywheel made to fit the LS engine and has a plate there to convert to the T5 gearbox etc etc. The problem has always been there but is worse since i had the flywheel skimmed to make the front and back faces parallel!!!! :-O Clutch judder is better than it was tho. :-) It feels like it just needs a little more throw on it to fully release.

Hi Arjen! I was wondering the other day how you were getting on with yours? I have been sorting issues out on mine bit by bit myself and although there is still loads i would like doing differently, apart from this annoying clutch issue it is driving really well! It is still running it's MBE ECU but Julian at Kits and Classics (formally RP and TCS) has been amazing sorting out the mapping on it (recommend him highly!) and although it needs tweaking on cold start (have to feather throttle for a few seconds till it warms slightly) it starts and drives really smooth now and is making decent power! :-)
The T56 is most definately on the cards very soon! As is a chassis refurb to put right the damage done and fit the engine further back. So i will be buying all these parts like you soon.

Does your MBE also run on the lambda control or is it running only on the mapping?

Fit the original 0.7 bore Girling original.I tried to fit a.n.other and the main issue is the tread for the hydraulic pipe connection is a different size.Power Performance in Coventry have them.

I bought a standard land rover clutch master (Rimmers or Famous 4) and this adapter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MG-MIDGET-SPRITE-1500-CL...

The adapter I have listed looks pricey, I paid £8 for mine, but the part number is the same. Look for a MG Midget or Triumph Spitfire.

TVR parts guys want big bucks for Master which can be bought for under 15 quid for a patern part (I went OEM LR for 27 quid).

Obviously you also need to change the arm but all very straight forward.

Matt

Do I understand it correctly? With the use of the adapter you van use the oem cilinder and the clutchfluidline?

Yes with the adapter you can use a standard Land Rover clutch master and existing clutch pipes and fittings.

I think the master cylinder I bought was for a series 3, i think but don't know for sure that the early Land Rover Defender 90 are also the same.

I found what I needed on Pistonheads somewhere so I am no trailblazer on this.

Land Rover Series 3 fits and has 0.75 bore but you will need the adaptor for the hydraulic pipe.

But the original one can also be used with the same adapter?

If you use the original Girling master-cylinder you do not need the adaptor, the thread for the hydraulic pipe in the Land-Rover part smaller so you need the adaptor to convert it to the larger thread on the hydraulic pipe on the car.
