I seem to remember that was a one off score written for the film.

I think there was an argument over payment to the composer which meant the film release was delayed which makes it stick in my mind as I was dying to see it at the time.

I've just brought the OST by Michael Gibbs and it doesn't have the jazz intro

Intro doesn't sound original, I know he didn't play clarinet but it sort of sounds like it could be John Coltrane.
