Freelander ventilator control dial stuck!!!!

Hi, I've just bought my wife a 2005 Freelander HSE TD4. The car is in excellent condition and everything seems to work fine.....except for the ventilation dial. It seems to be stuck on window demist and won't turn very much at all. I did get it from a reputable dealer and think they have missed this. I was wondering if it was something i can sort myself and if anyone has had this problem before, i am guessing it is cable operated, but i don't want to have to rave loads of stuff out to get to it. I had a quick look on Ebay for the panel, because the dial switches are a bit tatty and that winds me up a bit, but no joy for 05 model.
