Oil pre heater problem
Discussion
Has anyone had problems with the Wolverine engine oil pre heater?
I have had the heater for less than a year, loved it very much, but a part of the orange rubber turned hard and kind of disintegrated. Now the internal heating wires under this spot of rubber are short circuiting and the heater no longer functions. I am quite disappointed since I liked the device a lot, and less than a year is too short for a lifespan. Will mail the manufacturer soon. Am I the first having issues with it?

I've not had any problems with mine. It was fitted by a garage one and half years ago. All I know is it's really important to ensure an airtight perfect seal on the adhesive. Could it be that some small gap in the fitting allowed moisture build up over a period of time when the car has not been used over the winter period? The frosting/thawing process of the slightest moisture could possibly cause the damage. I don't know - just speculating.

Just about to fit mine. Worth knowing to make an air tight seal. Is it worth asking the garage if they've done any others where this has happened?
ShiDevil. That sounds cool where do you get the wifi switch/app?

I started off with an infra red plug in my garage, with a remote in the house, which worked really well. Anyway, I saw a Belkin device that was wifi from anywhere, so that expands the options, turn on from anywhere in prep for a blast or a timer facility if its an early morning start. No issues so far
