Exhaust fumes and Decats

I'm going to decat my Cerb in the next week or so.

The main reason is to keep temps down around the gearbox as I believe the extra heat in summer frys the slave seals.

Before I do, I heard that with decats you get more exhaust fumes.

Is this true?

If so, to help alleviate this, would it be a good idea to put a gasket on each end of the decat?

Any additional exhaust smell (not that I have ever noticed any) from decats would be coming out of the tailpipe because hydrocarbons aren't being converted, rather than because they leak at the joints.
