Travelling form Newbury to Leeds and back tomorrow - A34, M40, A43, M1 - anyone got any warnings on that route?
Speedtraps, cameras, SPECs etc?
Not that i intend to be in excess of any limits particularly, but forewarned is forearmed etc....
Thanks

I thought there were often vans on bridges over the M1, in Northants especially.

A43 from the M40 is all DC now and a great road.

only two fixed cameras one on either side of the road just before you get to silverstone(be careful as everyone will break to 60 )

apart from that you can have a very spirited drive!

might be better to go on the A5 when you get to towcester which takes you all the way to J18 M1 and can avoid the northampton stretch of the M1 which does seem to be very accident prone.

you'll only be on the M40 for a few miles so nothing to worry about

there's a 50 limit on the A34 around oxford, but there is no camera, apart from that its not a bad road at the right time.

Look at the prats official websites - they usually publish timetables of planned targets.

Also - keep radio tuned to local BBC radio - they do sometimes include planned activity talivanwise...

But M1 - Northants - yes Liebchen - have spotted them on the bridges.....

We actually have Trafpol on the West yorks section of the M1 so be sensible. Saw a Blue Plain clothes Volvo estate on the South Yorks section as well.

Thanks for the replies. Spotted the cams on A43 by the Green Man - face forward ones. Pretty good journey all in all, despite v busy M1 on return leg with lots of 'bunching'. Saw 2 BiB traffic the whole 400 miles but did the whole journey at sensible pace anyway.

Bonkers! 2 Bib in 400 miles, when you see so much Numpty activity and Bib are not there to catch them, what is this government doing?

Very little that looks at all sensible to me. A good deal of their 'initiatives' are just a costly PITA.

Best wishes all,
Dave.

Looking after their own arses as usual

Jobs for the boys and all that stuff.

Who cares about the taxpayer, obviously Labour don't. As long as they still have jobs, they are laughing all the way to their inflated bank accounts.
