Salvage sagaris for sale
Discussion
Hi all, looking for some advice, there is a red sagaris forsale on piston heads classifieds, that needs a lot of attention (cat c)
The other half really wants one and is asking me about what is required for repairs, cost, where to get it done etc, etc but I have no knowledge, any help would be much appreciated

Hmmm...this might be interesting. There's a very detailed existing thread.

Hang on, why stay away? The issue really is the price they probably bought it for/are selling it for? if he is prepared to pay that price then what is the issue? I'd rather the car was resurrected than languished at any garage forever before being broken for parts.
The Cat C/D insurance issue is a separate discussion.

I'd stay away for a number of reasons. The Cat C/D insurance issue is a separate discussion.
Firstly, although unlikely, there may be some title issue if the disagreement between insurer and former owner continues. Second, if the car was originally a genuine D and hasn't been officially changed you may spend money on a car that cannot be registered, third the reputation of the seller suggests that often there is more to repair than meets the eye.
For a what appears to be a first foray into TVR ownership there has to be an easier route.
For my twopenneth I would say look at the cat D in Eindhoven, yes the slime green one, all done and probably cheaper in the long run.
The one at TVR Dean was, I'm sure, a well looked after car but there will be issues along the way. Particularly with the catorgorisation and the 'all parts available' bit of the deal.
Just my thoughts.
