Fancy a new tv for the new gaff.

best quality, 40" roughly, freeview inbuilt etc.

What's the best option? Looking at Samsungs and LG's at the moment but so much to choose from.

Help!

I'm looking for pretty much the same - 40-42" for about the same budget... will update if I find anything.

We were looking at Smart TV's yesterday, didn't see anything for your budget, but my goodness there are some lovely bits of kit out there. Quite taken with the Samsung stuff.

Can I suggest richer sounds if you're not fussed about the latest release..

Excellent, that is one i was looking at on ebay.

How's the apps and internet on it? Work well or quite clunky?

Have they fixed the BBC Iplayer fault that was plaguing the smart TV's?

I got a 6000 series 46" about a year ago and despite updating the software, it still won't work.

Well documented online... that's what was putting me off buying another Samsung TV.

interested to know the answer to this too. Thinking of the 32" version.

Don't bother asking Samsung - they either deny that there's a problem, or insist that the latest software has fixed this... they told me this the last 2 software updates.

Does this one allow recording onto an external USB drive?

Bit of a bump, but I'm considering this telly.
Amazon review: click here.

Same price bar a few quid from John Lewis so will probably buy from there.

My Samsung from the same range has NO issues with sound synchronisation
Having said that I use a proper Ethernet connection - cable from gigabit switch to point behind TV then link cable to set. HOWEVER just tested it with some powerline adapters and again no issues.
I get all the catch ups in one place and whilst 5 catch up is a little "slow" they are all great. Picture quality is great and the sound is really not bad. Gone back to onboard sound as my bro has "borrowed" the soundbar and sound is genuinely good ish .
