What 1k bike for the missus

Hi all. Trying to find a bike for the missus while the c2w scheme is open.
Thinking of spending about £1k. But will go up to maybe £1250.
We tried a Cannondale carbon synapse this week but it was to small(they only had a 48). The next best option at the moment is a Planet X pro carbon. Cannondale stuff is well liked too.

Has anyone seen any good deals about recently? Would like a carbon frame ideally. And no lower groupset that tiagra. Preferably 105 or any SRAM.

Oh. And in no way does it have to be a ladies bike. She finds them slightly offensive.

My wife has owned a couple of Giants. They fit well, good quality and don't look girlie. Only seriously looked at those and Trek and bought Giant each time.

Her latest is a nice Avail Composite with Ultegra, which is over your budget, but they have cheaper ones.

Halfords boardman team carbon std or ltd ? The ltd is on special at the moment for £899 spend the change on upgrades?

I'm starting to get annoyed with my new 105 shifters. They're really stiff and they don't shift cleanly. My sons CX bike with Sora is much nicer as the gear cables aren't contorted around under the bar tape.

I'd be looking for Tiagra or such like with the shift cables coming cleanly out of the lever.

So that's £1053 if you use a British Cycling discount voucher (which will cost £14 for Ride Bronze membership) so £1067?

That sure is a lot of bike for the money. And it gets a thumbs up. Only issue is that they only seem to stock the std in medium and large. They have one in Mansfield so we'll pop over to take a look tomorrow.

My 105 bikes have had super smooth shifting (under tape), maybe your bike could do with a once over by a tech.

I got one on Tuesday and now I've fitted it to me (needed a shorter stem) I think it's great.

Brilliant. Just put a deposit on or after having a look at one. Amazing spec for the money especially with the discounts.
